LOVE
I would like to ask all skeptics, cynics, and materialists to fasten their seatbelts, or just to leave carefully this territory. Today I’m writing about a very special topic. All people with weak or lack of hearts are held responsible for reading what follows. To the rest of you…Howdy! Hope you’ll enjoy…
So here I am in the city of love- Paris just before St. Valentine, but neither the city nor the upcoming date inspired me to select this topic. Although Paris really got me with its romantic atmosphere, I don’t think that love fits in one city, much less in one date, and under any circumstances it doesn’t fit on a Chinese teddy bear holding a tag “I love you” (I never liked those bears, seriously :)). I’m actually starting my blog with this word, because sometimes I’ve thought what I would say if I had only one word left, and it was my last one. I’ve thought of truth, meaning, inspiration, dream, infinity, beauty…but for me Love is one word that describes and contains in itself all of these concepts. In this blog, Love is not my last, but my first word, because I believe that it’s essential to start with the most important thing! Yes, that’s my personal and professional opinion- Love is the most important thing!
Every intriguing story begins with love. I can’t be sure if what I’m posting in this blog from now on will form a story that will interest you, but for sure, just as in the beginning, I’ll keep inspiring myself with the same topic. So let us talk about Love! I asked some of the people that I love what is that they have to say about the topic and with their permission I’m glad to share their thoughts with you:

“What is it that you are, Love, say what is it that you are…".I think love is the second most wonderful miracle that could happen to us. The first one is the miracle of birth. When you fall in love, you are reborn.. Explaining the mystery of Love is like explaining the miracle of a sunrise, a sunset, the waves or the eruption of a volcano. There is no age, place and time for love. It can swoop down on us more than once, and each time it brings the feeling that it is the only great one. For me that’s the wonderful miracle called Love.”

“There is only one kind of love, but there are thousands of different copies. Let's just say I had too many copies in the past, starting from when I was a 7 years old kid, then to the love of an 18 years old boy , the common things between all these dilemmas was that I ended up with a broken heart in all these relationships not knowing why or how. I went through it all like everyone- the laughter, the smiles, the sorrows and broken hearts... Here I am now, 22 years old finding myself with this special someone that truly made a difference in my life and made all these years to come worth living for, to me that's simply my personal version of what is love all about…
So no matter what happens and the number of broken hearts grow; in the end one person will show us what we deserve as lovers and will be the one to make our future years count.”

“Love is…the moment, in which you collect your whole world in a tender flower pulled from a foreign garden in order to give it to someone. It is the moment, in which you collect the pain, the loneliness and the feeling of darkness in a nearly invisible tear, just to live it through. It is the beauty, the desire to paint, to fly, to have all wonderful experiences. It is the purity of a child. It is the muse of a poet. It is the strength of a worrier. It is the beauty of a goddess. Love is the goddess that inspires us to survive. Maybe it is the highest God. It is the smell of a glass of fine wine. A poetry that is not just for yourself anymore. It is the moment that you never want to experience alone. It is the beauty that is around you, waiting to be shared. That’s what love is.”

“Love is when you want to give the world to someone, without considering only your own needs anymore. It is when your own happiness depends on the smile of the other person. It is about giving it all, without the sense of loosing, but the opposite…”

I would like to cite the William Parrish’s words for love in the movie “Meet Joe Black”:
I know it's a cornball thing, but love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. I say, fall head over heels... To make the journey and not fall deeply in love, well, you haven't lived a life at all. But you have to try, because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived. Stay open. Who knows? Lightning could strike...”

“We live in times when love seems to be treated as a vintage concept. It is wonderful and exciting, but too romantic, unpractical, and non-profitable. In other words it doesn’t fit in today’s world so well. We live in the days when everyone’s busy, in the times of technology, internet, economic instability, debt, computer games, expensive cars and showing off. There is little room for love. It seems to me that love is the science fiction of XXI century. Just as discoverers and inventors used to be considered weird two centuries ago, the same applies now for those who talk about love. Given the circumstances of our time, I won’t limit the word love by just mentioning the love between two people, because love is much more than that. Love is our ability to feel, to wonder, to feel complete and fascinated, and it is the ability to admire the things from our everyday life. Our family, our friends, the nature, the art, the aromas, the work…all wonders are full of love, and if we awaken our sleeping senses, we’ve already discovered it, because love is what we are.”
I don’t want to close today’s topic, because I feel it as a beginning that I would like to leave open…open with the words “love is what we are…” Who would put an end to an infinite topic, anyways? I just reminded myself of the famous song that says “love is in the air”, so what else do we have left except to keep breathing ;))))
Provocation with title “LOVE”: The provocation that I’m suggesting today is not among the easiest ones. Here it is: if you thought of someone while you were reading today’s topic, write a letter to this person. Express your feelings with no fear…remember that love and fear are two opposites. If you have the chance, give the letter to the person, or send it, or better yet read it to him/her yourself. After all which one is easier to read about love, or to write about it? Is it easier to feel it or to share it?
If you want to share something about this or other topic you can comment or send me an e-mail. I’ll be happy to hear from you :))
